ABOUT ABOUT

Join Putnam County Service Unit for Girl vs. Wild camp!  Younger girls will learn many basic necessities for outdoor survival and play some games while older girls will test the skills they already know. Participants will be grouped into teams and test their skills at tying knots, learning archery (sling shot for Daisies), building fires, cooking, canoeing, and building shelters.  We will also have a guest speaker with live animals from Mountain State Reptile Rescue!

Check-in begins: 6:00pm on Friday, April 29th

Check-out for Daisies/Brownies: 7:30pm on Saturday, April 30th

Check-out for Juniors/Cadettes/Seniors/Ambassadors: 11:00am on Sunday, May 1st

Scout registration includes: fun patch, meals, lodging, all supplies and activities.

Adult registration includes: meals and activities. Adults attending camp will be expected to assist with camp and will be assigned duties and/or groups of girls to assist with.  Adults attending are required to be registered volunteers with Girl Scouts of Black Diamond Council and must have a current/approved background check on file with GSBDC.

Every individual attending (including volunteers) must purchase a ticket.  All food allergies must be listed on Ticket Leap so cooks can plan accordingly.  PLEASE reach out if you forgot to include an allergy.  Overnight forms will be provided via link, please print and send them with your child to camp.

Recommended sleeping assignments for girls will be:

Daisies: Lodge (Kindergarten Daisies will only be able to stay overnight with a parent/guardian who is a registered/background checked volunteer.  1st Grade and up are allowed to stay without a parent/guardian present).

Brownies and Juniors: Singing Pines

Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors: Tent Camping

We understand some girls may not be able to attend the entire time of the event or may want to request sleeping arrangements outside of the recommended areas.  If this is known in advance, please just note it in the registration form so we can plan as well as possible.

We will be following COVID guidelines set by Girl Scouts of Black Diamond Council for this event.  This may include signing a COVID Waiver, a COVID screening, temperature check, socially distancing whenever possible, and wearing a mask during the event. Per council policy, COVID waivers must be submitted in advance.  Please complete the waiver linked here and email it to [email protected].  Other forms will be emailed prior to camp to be turned in at camp.  Thanks!
